Whether you’re lacing up skates or along for the ride, there’s plenty to do this weekend in Baileys Harbor on and off the ice.
Friday
Teams can check in at Door County Brewing Co. in the center of town from 6 – 9 pm. Bring your signed waivers, check out this year’s great tournament merchandise, and get any questions answered as you check out the taproom.
Saturday
Morning
Pond Hockey play begins at 8:30 am. Schedules here>>
Teams who don’t check in Friday should plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before your first game to check in and turn in any remaining waiver forms. Players may not participate without a signed waiver turned in to registration director Jordan Burress.
Throughout the Day
If you’re a fan down for a full day of taking in the games, dress warm, but know there will be a spectator tent to warm up in. We’ll also have a couple of fire pits out on the ice to warm your mitts! Inside the tent you can get brats, hot dogs, chili, hot cocoa and coffee from the concession stand run by Door County Rotary North. You can also get beer, including brews from Door County Brewing Co., plus other beverages sold by the Baileys Harbor Community Association.
Around noon there will be a group giving ice harvesting demonstrations on the ice. Learn how people used to harvest ice from the lake to keep drinks cool all summer long.
If you like disc golf, check out the Door Disc Golf Club’s Tundra Toss at Maxwelton Braes on Saturday. Details here>>
If you can’t quite pull off a full day on the ice, head over to our official weekend headquarters at Door County Brewing Co., where they’ll be updating scores throughout the day and serving great beer. If you haven’t seen the new taproom yet, you have to check it out!
You can also check out the Baileys Harbor Winter Farm Market at the town hall from 10 am – 2 pm, or try out a guided snowshoe hike at the Ridges Sanctuary.
Awards
Championship games will be played in the afternoon (check the schedule here) and Stanley Thermoses will be awarded to the victors after the last round, approximately 3:30 pm. That will happen in the spectator tent. All members of winning teams will get a growler from Door County Brewing Co.
Evening
Once the games are done, head over to our sponsors at Door County Brewing Co., Thyme Cuisine, and Cornerstone Pub. Door County Brewing Co. will host Porky’s Groove Machine from 7 – 9 pm at the music hall. Check it out! Choose from a great beer, whiskey, and food selection at Cornerstone and catch sports on the TVs. Or swing up to Thyme Cuisine (located at Maxwelton Braes near the lake) and grab a cocktail and food, then catch live music from Cat5 from 9 pm to 1 am.
You can thank these guys for helping make this tournament possible, or you can thank them by spending your money there. We think they’ll appreciate the latter!
Sunday
Thyme Cuisine is opening for breakfast Sunday morning. Stop by on your way out of town for great food from Karl and the crew.
